TV Gig…

Well, I’m starting to get a bit “bloggish” here… however, I simply must share that I’ve had the opportunity offered me to do a small TV spot on the local 10 o’clock news show. I’ve been offered a regular time slot, airing each Monday evening. I have the latitude to discuss business, government and education topics, especially to highlight what CEO Space members are doing in and for our communities.
E.g, Scott Kandel and Julie Brown have already been showcased for their work with wild Mustangs. Over the next few weeks, starting in October, I’ll showcase three CEO Space member-companies that do cutting edge work in education:
- “The Children’s Educational Network, Inc.”: CEO Greg Writer and team has developed a company that protects kids from all the hate, porn, violence and predators on the Internet. Parents can control content, yet the experience for kids is fun and educational. He has leveraged CEO Space contacts to secure agreements with Dream Works, Tim Brown of the Oakland Raiders, Miss America Pageant and many others.
- “YourHomework.com”: CEO Soorena Solari and his associates have put together a unique way for parents, teachers and students to collaborate so all can make sure the homework gets done…and the students have all the help they need. They get over a million hits a day on their web site.
- “Allegro Multimedia, Inc.”: CEO Chris Salter took a napkin idea to CEO Space a few years back…it had to do with an idea he had to teach kids piano, accelerating learning via visual cues in a software game format. Today the product has become, “Piano Wizard.” Piano Wizard is in Wal Mart, Target and other big box stores. In July he told me he’s finished developing “Guitar Wizard” and is nearing completion on “Drum Wizard.” (I was a drummer, myself…looking forward to what that last thing is all about.)
Anyway, it’s interesting having CEOs send me their media kits and press releases… It really solidifies my belief that the CEO’s #1 job is to develop, carry and communicate the vision. The better one can do that, the better one can attract the team, alliances, capital and other resources to go… “All The Way!”
Special thanks go out to Scott Kandel, Julie Brown and Lori Denham for talking up CEO Space and piquing KREN’s interest. Special thanks to Kassata and Madeline at KREN for making me look better than I deserve… I was definitely not looking to be a regular on TV!… Stranger than fiction, eh?
